Good for the falling down of the womb.
The Myrtle is a little tree or bush with evergreen leaves which are pleasantly aromatic. The flowers are white, and are followed by a small round black berry.
Where to find it: It grows wild in southern Europe, but elsewhere is an ornamental garden plant.
Flowering time: Late summer.
Astrology: A tree of Mercury.
Medicinal virtues: The leaves and berries are drying and binding and therefore good for diarrhoea and dysentery. They are used also for spitting of blood, catarrhal defluxions on the chest, fluor albus and dropped womb or fundament. They are used inwardly in infusions, and outwardly in injections.
Modern uses: The leaves are made into an infusion and used as a vaginal douche for leucorrhoea and prolapse of the womb.
